OP ELEVATED TO CEO OF SECON
The Considine name has been synonymous with Parade for the better part of 70 years, since family patriarch Maurie Considine, then a teenager, accepted an invitation from Barney Luby to join the Old Paradians’ Amateur Football Club.
Similarly, the family business Secon Freight Logistics has also endured, in the 48 years since Maurie founded the company.
Now, the Considines have turned to Old Paradian Steve Nailer (1987), Secon’s recently-appointed CEO, to oversee its wharf transport, warehousing, containerisation, side lifting and warehouse and depot management systems - and Steve, pictured here seated with (clockwise from the left corner) Brendon, Vin, Paul and Matt Considine, is truly honoured.
“I’m humbled to work for a great family,” Steve said.
“I’m honored to assume the role of CEO at such an exciting time for Secon. We have a long and proud history but our focus is always on the future, and we have big plans over the next few years to grow Secon’s reputation in the industry as the company you can rely on for service, experience and trust.”
Steve, who previously served as Secon’s General Manager, has been promoted as part of a restructure following ongoing substantial growth at the company. The restructure supports plans for Secon Freight Logistics and the wider Secon group to undertake a further aggressive expansion over the next three years as part of Secon’s new corporate strategy.
Brendon Considine, the former Secon CEO, has assumed the role of Managing Director, overseeing governance of the wider group, ensuring sustainability while the company executes its new strategy.
“Steve Nailer has played an instrumental role in Secon’s development over the years, and under his leadership the company couldn’t be better positioned to move into a bold new era”, Brendon said.
