ANDY KUPPE

Andy commenced at Parade as a young, enthusiastic Year 7 in 1978, beginning a lifetime connection to the College and Edmund Rice Education. Completing Year 12 in 1983, Andy was a member of the Prefect team and a capable student.

After leaving Parade, Andy was a member of the newly established Edmund Rice camps for disadvantaged young children. Initial university studies in Law and Commerce led Andy to change to a teaching qualification. After three years teaching at Sacred Heart in Preston, Andy returned to Parade in 1991 to continue his teaching. From 1997 to 2007, Andy worked as Executive Officer, St Patrick's Province Treacy Centre, Parkville, and Director of the Edmund Rice Centre Amberley, Lower Plenty. Andy then accepted an opportunity to work in Ireland as Chief Executive of the Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre in Waterford.

On his return to Australia, Parade again was the beneficiary, where Andy was appointed Deputy Principal. In 2018, Andy moved into the position of acting Principal of the College while Br Denis Moore was on leave. In 2019 Andy was officially appointed as the first lay Principal of Parade College following Br Denis’s retirement. As Principal, Andy was a strong supporter of the Old Paradians’ Association, investing in people and resources. He was a member of the OPA Executive where he made wise contributions to its strategic objectives. In 2023 Andy was appointed Chief Executive Officer EREA Victorian Schools Limited, holding this position until the end of 2025.

Andy is a real ‘Edmund Rice man’ who has made an outstanding contribution to Parade College and the Old Paradians’ Association, he is a most worthy recipient of the Tenete Award.
