PARADE COLLEGE

TERENCE MORAN AC, FIPAA

1947 -

In The Paradian of 1966, the then Principal of Parade Br Nash noted Terry Moran’s contribution to College life as “considerable”.

A Head Prefect in his final year, Terry furthered his education at La Trobe University, earning a BA (Hons) and pursued his career vocation as a public servant in the Australian (Commonwealth) and Victorian Public Services.

Ultimately, he rose to become the most senior public servant in the country.

In March 2008, following more than seven years as Secretary of the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, Terry was appointed Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, a role he capably fulfilled through the terms of Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard.

Terry was awarded an Order of Australia (AO) for service to public sector leadership in key policy areas and program implementation, and later a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for eminent service to the community, in part through public sector leadership.

He has acknowledged Parade College “as a powerful influence, in providing direction, insight and perseverance” as he climbed life’s ladders and contributed positively to his country.
