PARADE COLLEGE

The Old England e. Bar again provided the venue for the Old Paradians 40-year school reunion of the class of 1985. Over 60 were in attendance and all really enjoyed the opportunity to get together.

We were able to remember those men from the 1985 group that have passed away since leaving the College. Matthew Burns, Leo De Grandis, Brian Elliott, Mark Galea, Tim Irving, David Mann, Stephen O’Callaghan, Andrew Ongarello. Sadly, we are confirming some others that too have passed away.

The group also welcomed former staff members who attended on the evening. John Joss, Trish Joss (Miss Rooney!), John Ramsdale, Peter Rubira and John Nicholls. Current staff member Matthew Byrne was also in attendance

College Captain Mark Scillio was able to reflect upon the significance of being an Old Paradian, highlighting the friendships forged and spoke of the gratitude the group would have for the many dedicated teachers that they had over their time at the College. Paul Burgess was able to use his experience to mobilise the large group to move outside for a group photo. Attempts to put a ‘hard tag’ on Damien Keating proved a bridge too far.

The Association is thrilled that over 120 have engaged with us at our last two reunions and we look forward to continuing our reunion program in 2026.

Special thank you to our Alumni Officer Hayley for her work in the organisation of the event. Also, Anthony Petyton for his assistance through his Facebook group.
