On Wednesday 21 October, at the final College Assembly of the year, we had the pleasure of welcoming back The Honourable Justice Adrian Finanzio of the Supreme Court of Victoria to receive the Distinguished Old Paradian Award.
We were also delighted to welcome Adrian’s wife, Rebecca, and their daughters, Sofia and Isabel, as well as his parents, Sam and Cherie, to share in this special occasion.
A member of the Parade College Class of 1989, Adrian went on to study at Monash University, completing a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. His professional journey is an outstanding example of where dedication, hard work and a commitment to learning can lead.
After beginning his legal career as a solicitor, Adrian went on to practise at the Victorian Bar, where he was appointed Senior Counsel in 2012. In February 2025, he reached another significant milestone with his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria, one of the most senior judicial positions in the state.
The assembly provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to hear from someone who once walked the same school grounds and has gone on to make a significant contribution to the Victorian legal system. Adrian’s visit was a reminder that the opportunities and experiences gained at Parade can provide a strong foundation for whatever path our students choose to follow.
We were extremely proud to welcome Adrian back to Parade and grateful to him for sharing his experiences and insights with our College community.
