PARADE COLLEGE

On a beautiful late October afternoon, 87 Old Paradians gathered at Rosanna Golf Club for the Old Paradians Association’s (OPA) Annual Golf Day. Bringing together former students from across many graduating decades, the event provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends, strengthen lifelong friendships and enjoy a fantastic day of golf in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The course was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition and plenty of laughter, making it another memorable occasion for the Old Paradians community.

A special acknowledgement goes to Luke Thomas (1988), Steve Nailer (1987) and Hayley Workman (Alumni officer) who once again did an outstanding job organising the event and ensuring everything ran smoothly. With 22 golf carts making their way around the course, participants enjoyed a challenging round of golf, accompanied by refreshments and plenty of opportunities to catch up with fellow Paradians. The Rosanna Golf Club also established a popular on-course drinks station, which proved to be a welcome addition to the afternoon.

The OPA Annual Golf Day was once again made possible through the generous support of Qube, Veritas, Rosanna Golf Club and the Old Paradians Association, all of whom contributed prizes for the occasion. A special mention must go to Martin Luby (1979), who generously donated the individual first prize of a two-night stay for two people at his villa at Moama On The Murray Resort in Echuca/Moama. Master of Ceremonies Luke Thomas once again took to the microphone to announce the prize winners, demonstrating that he has become a natural in the role and adding to the enjoyment of the afternoon.

Congratulations to all the winners, particularly David Page (1987), who claimed the Peter J Walker Trophy for the Best Individual Score with an impressive 44 points. The Lou Arthur Memorial Trophy for Best Team Aggregate was awarded to the team of Luke Thomas (1988), Paul Digney (1988), David Stuckey (1988) and Peter Reid (1988). In keeping with the fun and good-natured spirit of the day, the Team NAGA Award was presented to Steve Nailer (1987), Matt Vear (1987), Cyril Dixon (1987) and Paul Thompson (1987). With another successful Golf Day completed, the OPA looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year. The event has already been booked for Friday, 29 October 2027, once again at Rosanna Golf Club. Be sure to save the date for another fantastic day of golf, friendship and Old Paradians camaraderie!
