The First World War remains Australia's costliest conflict in terms of deaths and casualties. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 men enlisted, of whom more than 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed, or taken prisoner.

Parade College was not untouched, with almost 200 former students of the 'Old Bluestone Pile' known to have bravely answered their nation's call.

With Hearts and Courage honours the memory of the thirty-three amongst their ranks who gave their tomorrows for our today ... and one who made it home.
