PARADE COLLEGE

On 9 May this year, we were able to celebrate the planting of a beautiful crepe myrtle tree on Foundation Square to honour the ‘Mothers of Paradians’ who have contributed so much to their sons and the College along the years.

The Nailer family wished to dedicate the tree in memory of their mother Kaye, who symbolised the contribution made by the mothers of Parade boys over the years.

A commemorative plaque on bluestone has now been permanently placed beneath the tree and has already been appreciated by visitors to the College. Old Paradian Matt Giddens (1987) wrote to us saying, in part:

I took Dad over today and he thought it a wonderful reminder. We lost Mum in 2020. As the mum of 5 boys who went through Parade and married to an Old Paradian for 65 years, I reckon she would be chuffed
